Misconceptions and Myths Concerning Abuse
We have come far in our journey as a society to understand abuse(s) and different types of exploitation that plague the Human Family. However, there are still so many misconceptions and myths that serve the purpose only to be judgments and blame that fall upon the members of our Human Family who have been abused or victimized.
It is important that these Misconceptions and Myths be examined. Why? They are the mirror image of ourselves. If we do not look in the mirror and acknowledge what needs to be removed, fixed, improved upon, or revamped, we will continue on as the tortured, dysfunctional society called Human Family as we always have been. The desire for a better future for our children will remain as elusive as it ever has.
It is by exploring these myths and misconceptions that we have the ability and then therefore the responsibility to change the current path of thinking that has been determining our actions as both individuals and the collective. For families, communities and societies are made up of individuals. It is by empowering the individual NOW in as many capacities as possible that the Society of Human Family will be empowered and made stronger in each generation to come.
At the time of this writing, in the background can be heard two men of similar age but different culture, one about to be a father for the first time and the other not as of yet; both are studying to be teachers, both discussing with each other the conundrum plight of society: how to help children make educated decisions without giving them temptation.
Michelle Carmela likes to put the issue this way, "It is best to impact society and culture for the betterment of all NOW before society and culture even begin to influence our households and individual generation foundation, which would be each of our children who Father -God/Love/Creator/Being has entrusted to our care for the negative which in the long run affects we all. "
Hopefully, as you continue visiting the Once Upon an Eden page, you will be empowered to live such a life.
