**If you and /or your church would like to help feed and care for homeless people it is highly and strongly recommended that this be done by helping INSIDE shelters, soup kitchens and restaurants. The reason being many homeless people have intense reactions to food that has been not handled or cooked to code. Anaphylaxis, Anaphylactic shock, dysentary and many other food borne illnesses can severely complicate the lives of homeless people (and if they have children with them then that is even a greater hardship upon the children. Too many churches from as far as more than an hour away get the idea to do outreach feeding to people of Down Town LA/Skid Row, Santa Monica, Venice and other famous and infamous locals, by the time the food is driven to the location and tables are set up the food has been man handled by many hands and if mayo, tuna, other fish, dairy are allowed to sit in the sun in the back of the car during transport through city traffic then the food that was cooked and served with the best intentions was actually poison. You now the saying, "The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions." Well that certainly applies in this case. And hence, good people why there are ordinances around the country of the good ole United States against feeding homeless people on the street. Not to mention that most outreach feeding programs do not allow for proper clean up and sanitation which also leads then to epidemic outbreaks that are harmful to homeless people, their families and friends that the homeless and housing challenged do manage mingle with and the neighborhoods in which they reside.
Here let me make this point a bit clearer...pictures are worth a thousand words....
The picture on the left here usually ends up as the center picture and to further bring the issue of sanitation and the dining experience home... please see the last picture.... Now scroll down further you will see some more pleasant situations starting from soup kitchen and shelter kitchens to very affordable eateries around mainly the greater Los Angeles County and Area.
I wish I had time of day and space on the website to make a proper director for states and communities around the country; hopefully, this director here will inspire others to make similar for their communities in order to help make sure hungry bellies are filled in a humane and healthy way that nourishes the heart, soul and mind as well as the belly and body. All the eateries are listed as vegetarian or vegan due to the fact that fruits and vegetables are foodstuff severely lacking on the daily diets of many homeless and housing challenged as well as clean water which too also contributes to the outbreak of disease. Thank you for your desire to help people in need. Let's make sure we do so not just with good intentions but also diligent care of detail using common sense and care in all details and good intentions. Love and Blessings to you and yours.

The issue of health and sanitation is a constant issue in cities with large homeless populations such as Skid Row, Los Angeles which is on par with the detrimental conditions that were faced in the early 1900's to the Great Depression Era. Currently, Hepatitis A is a rampant epidemic plaguing Skid Row it is a fight that the activists, advocates, case workers and social workers are doing all they can to keep the situation contained withe help of the police and specially trained nurses so as to make certain that the disease does not spread to children, working poor and to the greater Los Angeles area or abroad. So please, if you and your church want to help homeless people to not be hungry direct them to any of the following locations listed below, or read the up and coming article about how you can effectively help address the many issues that homeless people face. Thank you.
