The Blood series is a fun action based sci fi horror series that introduces to the reader various forms of mythologies and technologies from around the world. At the core, the main characters get to know themselves and their peers both friend and foe by taking the time to hone skills that in Today's world wide culture of selfie's and Instagram are being lost and forgotten. Author Jay Mack (pen name) has been a long time friend to Once Upon an Eden's work. In the cast of characters, there is at least two that are based upon OUAE's founder/director, Michelle Carmela. One is a composite character inspired by several people the author holds in regard (Michelle Carmela being one of them), and another is based upon Michelle Carmela directly. Michelle Carmela's name is also in the book as one character is named Michelle and another is named Carmela. ***Possible triggers: religious references, monsters, pagan references, military scientific experiments, most spiritual and character building content is not specifically biblical, yet is accurate.  "The Man on the Bench" is not only a quick read, it is one that lovingly brings you to the point of wrestling within yourself concerning some of life's most difficult moments for the characters that you quickly fall in love with despite they're causing the reader to face his or her own personal issues. For a story line without a villain, the story nonetheless is full of action and suspense which one find's oneself easily immersed.
"Man on the Bench" personally was that of an "Never Ending Story" experience where I felt quite engrossed in the main character's own story. To say that "Man on the Bench" makes a great Christmas gift is quite the understatement, but am saying it anyway.
