Ever since the first person realized that another person's misfortune could be manipulated and utilized for their personal gain, slavery entered and wove itself into the fabric of Human History. In the caves in a village of France, are pictographs dating back nearly 10,000 years ago showing ancient man enslaving one another. Not everyone who was ever exploited or enslaved was in amisfortuanate situation. In the Bible, we read the deception of Adam and Eve. The first account of what is called Human Exploitation today. The promise of "Better" playing upon the natural desires and God given commands to "Be Fruitful and Multiply". The result, they found themselves apart from God and each other. |
Adam no longer calling his gift from God, flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone, but Eve the mother of all living. Living at that time were animals and in time to come and from that time to this, the daughters of Adam and Eve have borne the name and shame of being reduced to the equivalent of pregnant dogs shouldering to this day the blame Adam placed upon Eve. In the meantime, men the sons and Adam and Eve would eventually see themselves as dogs "DAWGS". Likewise, Humanity so divided from this first divorce and many thousands more fractures through the eons would see one another as chattel, beasts of burden, resources to be bartered, traded, exhausted and worked to death.
Man was never given dominance over his brothers and sisters. Slavery has not ended even today; it only changes forms and names. Individually, we were each slaves to something until we accepted the freedom found in Jesus Christ. Do we realize the miracle it is to come together today as brothers and sisters in one accord? It is a miracle that we tend to take for granted. We each are a living testimony to Freedom! What is your testimony?
Here is mine: Descendant of slave trader and slave alike. No longer a child slave or one who was sexually exploited as a child and enslaved in so many other ways. I stand before you daughter of the Most High. A Bible teacher, a survivor advocate who has been calling people out of their personal hell into their personal freedom into a full relationship with Father God for more than 25 years. No longer so ill in my body as a result of being used by the whims of others, because it is the thoughts, plans desires of Father God beings me daily wholeness. I have embraced my freedom with loving appreciation. Have you?
We are not our past. We are not our yesterday. We are not our five minutes ago. God's mercies are new every morning. God's mercies are new with every breath. Forgiveness is key to both keeping our sanity and our relationship we have with God and man clean. But what of the relationship we have with ourselves? Have you forgiven yourself? Do you really know who you are?
Each one of us is a chosen generation, a royal priesthood a holy nation. We belong to God our Father who created us in his likeness. He commanded us to be fruitful and to multiply. We each are more than conquerors. We are History Changers. In honor or despite our lineage and past we live our Freedom. The freedom to know our Father Godasthe person he is and to love him back because he first loved us. As children of the Most High we are History Changers as Immanuel/Jesus Christ was a History Changer. And just as Jesus Christ lived so are we also to live, in the freedom we were clothed and housed in when placed in the Garden of Eden. Our here and now is as the first man and woman Once Upon an Eden.
